Milieu is a project by Jackie Luo, who started making candles in June 2020 during the George Floyd protests to raise money for organizations fighting to protect Black lives. Since then, proceeds from these candles have contributed to causes like the abolition of the prison-industrial complex and support for Black trans people, as well as new causes, like addressing the climate crisis.

Right now, 25% of all proceeds go to Heart of Dinner, a nonprofit combating food insecurity and isolation within the elderly Asian-American community in New York City.
